One of the most beautiful ways to improve the overall look of your outdoor home dcor is to create a garden. Gardening is an art in itself. There are many kinds of gardening from the very simplistic to the more challenging gardens to design. However, even very simple gardens add a beautiful touch for your home.

Why a Garden?

Gardening is a do it yourself kind of outdoor dcor, but it is, in many ways unlike building a porch, designing a tree house, or creating outdoor furniture.

Even if you do not have a full garden, you can add a beautiful touch of outdoor dcor just by planting a few flowers around the outside of a tree, for example. There are many ways to brighten up your outdoor dcor. Natural outdoor dcor is a one of the most beautiful types of outdoor dcor there are. And one of the most prominent of these is the art of gardening. A garden creates an ambiance unlike any other, because of the welcoming allure and fragrance that plants and flowers provide.

Flowers are the basis of garden dcor:

The kinds of gardens that seem the most decorative, elegant or pleasantly quaint are made so by the types of flowers and the style of landscaping used to create them. There are several types of flowers that are especially attractive when in season. And unless you are growing a vegetable garden, you care about the overall look of your garden.

Of course, you want your property to be as beautiful as possible, right? And among the very best ways to accentuate the beauty of your home from the outside are the many colors and scents of the flowers themselves. Here are some very popular kinds of flowers for your annual planting:

Geraniums:

A is a spreading perennial, which blooms in loose spikes and will add a touch of beauty to any outdoor dcor.

Primrose:

Primrose seeds, which are often sown by nature, like a present, a stunning surprise for your garden.

Dwarf Japanese Iris:

The Dwarf Japanese Iris is a beautiful flower, however it really does take a lot of attentiveness to keep healthy. In the long run, though, you end up with outdoor dcor that is fragrant peaceful and stunning to look upon.

The yellow trillium as part of your floral outdoor dcor is a wonderful flower with three mottled leaves and a flower top each stalk.

Perennials:

The perennials that bloom early, such as those above, paint the garden with flowers, then subside modestly to green or go dormant while waiting for the next spring. Planting perennials is one way to add an annual splash of color to your outdoor dcor. Here are a couple more ideas:

Azaleas:

Azaleas are early-blooming flowers that provide your garden with a delicate sense of personal style and can certainly serve as outdoor dcor for your home.

Variegated euonymus:

Variegated euonymus can serve as a floral outdoor dcor that act as a ground cover, and brightens up the shade.

Make sure to note that the required care for every kind of flower variesso be sure you are planting your flowers in places where they will thrive. For example: I needed to fill a rather large bed that is almost always in direct sunlight. However, I did not want to use the same type of flower or even a couple of kinds in the bed, the bed being as large as it is. Therefore, I found a good selection of flowers that want direct sunlight to turn my flowerbed into a gorgeous display of colors and scents.

I used the following flowers:

There are several kinds of daisy osteospermum hybrids that have been developed so that you can choose the perfect colors for your garden. Of these I chose to use a pale yellowish color that Proven Winners calls lemon symphony, I also chose Soprano Purple, and Melon Symphony (which is a lovely pale peachy/melon color). In addition I chose several colors of petunia (seven colors approximately) from pirouette purple (a lovely combination of dark purple and white) to neon pink-colored petunias, to lilac colored petunias and more. I chose alyssums, which are very beautiful and fill out the bed nicely, they also remain very small, so you want to plant your alyssums toward the front of the bed. I also added a dark purple osteospermum, just as a last thought. These sun-loving flowers go great togetherand there are plenty morejust be sure to read the tags and see what kind of care your flowers will require before making your final decision.
